We recently got in touch with Lauren, a bride who had a beautiful wedding here with us in the summer of 2019, to ask her a few questions about her special day with us.
What inspired you to have your wedding at Highcliffe Castle?
I think the castle is really beautiful, and we loved taking our dog for a walk around the grounds. Then when we were looking to get married it was the most beautiful venue in the local area. We were really sold by the Winter Garden!
How did you decide on the styling of the Castle for your wedding day?
We’re quite minimalist in our style, so we wanted to go for greenery and white flowers. We chose Simply Flower to do the decoration, and Maria got the theme straight away, suggesting lovely ideas like runners of greenery up the table, lots of white candles and beautiful, fluffy gypsophila.
What was the most memorable moment of the day?
I loved the ceremony. It was so light and bright and the officiants really understood how warm and friendly we wanted it, rather than serious and stuffy.
In one word how would you sum up your wedding day at Highcliffe Castle?
One word is a challenge! I’m torn between beautiful, classic and gorgeous.
Finally, what is one piece of advice you would give to a bride thinking of getting married at Highcliffe Castle?
I think it’s a lovely blank canvas so you can do with it what you want. Get on Pinterest and other wedding blogs to see what you like, and I’m sure it would work in Highcliffe.
