FAQ
No. Unfortunately our marriage license means that no ceremony of a religious nature or with any religious content can be carried out. This includes blessings and christenings. However other ceremonies can be conducted in a secular manner by registrars, including baby naming and renewal of vows.
Unfortunately there is no flexibility in the timings for wedding ceremonies. We do find that there is plenty of time allowed for your after ceremony photographs and that guests are ready to move on by the time the hire concludes.
Yes. You need to contact the registration service on 01202 225153 or email registrationinformation@dorsetcc.gov.uk. The Castle Team can not do this for you as you have to provide personal and legal documentation.

Yes. Level access to all ground floor rooms including the Wintergarden ceremony room is via the gift shop. If you know any of your guests will require this access please let us know so that a member of staff can be ready to help. Please note other access to the building is via steps.
No. You choose one of our nominated caterers. Our caterers have been specially selected for their ability to work within the constraints of the building.
We have a reserved area which holds approximately 30 double parked cars for wedding guests. Permits will be provided for these spaces so your guests need not pay & display. This is the total number of spaces that can be guaranteed for your guests. Any guests parking outside of the reserved area or without a permit are subject to the terms and conditions of the pay & display car park. If you have additional guests we recommend that you arrange a bus or coach service; this allows all the guests to enjoy an after ceremony drink as well as preventing any parking issues. Coaches can be parked at the Castle.
Bridal cars may be parked in front of the Castle during your ceremony so that they can be included in your photographs.
The CD player in the Winter Garden has both a jack point to connect any mp3 player to and an IPod docking station with adaptor for both sizes. We would ask that you nominate a member of your wedding party to operate this for you. You may wish to book an appointment to rehearse your music.
There are always three arrangements of fresh cream and green flowers in the Wintergarden. As we have up to three weddings a day we can not remove or change the colour of these. However, you may like to provide additional flowers for your ceremony or for the registration table.
Yes. We allow couples to have drinks either outside on the lawn or in the Drawing Room. Please see our drinks package for more details.
