Wessex Sculputors Spring Exhibition
Wednesday, 27 February 2013 - 11:00am - Sunday, 14 April 2013 - 4:30pm
A fascinating and varied exhibition of artwork from the Wessex Sculptors in various mediums.

Wessex Sculptors was the brainchild of students of Winchester sculptor John Souter, who taught a long running course at the Tower Arts Centre until 2001. The students wanted their own studio to work in, as and when they pleased. An energetic committee established the group as a cooperative in temporary premises in Winnall in May 2002, after winning a grant from New Horizons.

In September 2003, Wessex Sculptors moved to its present studio at Brockwood, near Bramdean. Here the group rents part of a large barn and two adjacent workshops. The studio has an excellent range of tools and equipment.

In 2003 the group achieved charitable status, with the aim of increasing public awareness and enjoyment of sculpture by providing good facilities for learning and developing techniques, running accessible and practical courses in sculpting for members and the general public, and staging an annual exhibition at the studio.
